Kris Bespalec’s work manifests through material and memory. Rust and salt embody the experience of preservation and decay- the push and pull of presence and experience. Textiles and sculptural objects embody personal histories, referencing the movement of time and the way bodies move through space. Bespalec uses materials that respond to waste and excess, consumption and production. She is motivated by the dualities of symbolic gesture and the tangible substance in the materials she uses to create installations that envelop,challenge, and transform both the space and the viewer through immersive and interactive works.
